Life Drawing Sketch

Sadly, I don't remember this model's name, which is ironic because she was the impetus for me to begin modelling myself.

One evening, at the Artist's Coalition of Austin session, our model did not show up. This woman was running the session, and felt obligated to model. She was obviously uncomfortable, so I offered to model instead.

As you can see, she eventually got comfortable modelling herself.

An interesting transition occurs when an artist becomes a model. You develop a greater appreciation for the models, and in my own case, you are motivated to give them something interesting to draw.
I'm still amazed that I ever agreed to pose in the nude in front of a room full of relative strangers, but I am glad that I did.
